Description
Poinsett Bridge is the oldest stone bridge in South Carolina. It was built in 1820 using quarried native stone that was fitted without mortar. A single 14 foot high gothic arch supports the bridge over Gap Creek. The Poinsett Bridge Heritage Preserve is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
